Heldur Viiresele kuuluv kunstiteoste ja joonistuste kollektsioon peegeldab Tartu kunstitudengite grupi, hiljem tuntud kui Tartu sõpruskond, tegevust. Osa sõpradest saadeti 1949. aastal võimuvastaste tegevuste vangilaagrisse. Nende käekirja eripäraks oli maaliline stiil, mis käis vastu nõukogude võimude vaatele kunstist. Nii avaldasid noored oma töödes vastupanu sotsialistiku realismi karmidele reeglitele nii vormi kui teemadega.

Hans Mattis–Teutsch Collection at Braşov Art Museum

The collection reflects the troubled relationship of the avant-garde artist Hans Mattis-Teutsch with the communist regime due to his maladjustment to the official cultural policies, and in particular the ways in which his work was perceived and administered by the cultural institutions under communism. It includes paintings, sculptures, and graphic works created by Hans Mattis-Teutsch in the period from the 1910s to the 1950s.

The Hans Otto Roth Collection includes documents gathered in the period 1919–1951 by the creator of the collection in order to illustrate his activity as a political leader and journalist of the Transylvanian Saxons who opposed both the pre-communist extreme right movements and regimes and the communist regime.

Harald Hauswald Photography Collection

The digital photography collection of Harald Hauswald was acquired at the end of 2017 by the Federal Foundation for the Reappraisal of the SED Dictatorship. It represents a valuable collection from one of the most significant photographers from the GDR. Hauswald’s snapshots from everyday life in East Berlin provide insight into a bygone era, and which acquired public acclaim and support following the toppling of the regime in 1990. The current collection is in the process to be expanded and by the end of 2019 is expected to include the photographer’s entire life work in digitalized form.

Hardijs Lediņš collection

The collection is made up of the papers of the avant-garde multimedia conceptual artist Hardijs Lediņš (1955-2004). It reflects his activities, and those of his collaborator Juris Boiko (1954-2002), as well as a number of their friends who were at the centre of alternative culture in Latvia in the 1970s and 1980s.
