At the beginning of 2017, members of the former editorial staff at “Student”, editors and journalists who wrote for the magazine, decided to organize a series of Events to recall the importance it once had for youth in Yugoslavia. With this aim, they organized three public discussions during spring 2017 at the “Studentski grad” campus to highlight the most important events in the magazine’s history. The most notable and best-visited discussion was titled “Student magazine in the history of the 1968 world revolution”, which was held in June. In October 2017, an exhibition of reproductions of former “Student” cover pages along with a selection of the most relevant for each year was organized under the title “Visual identity and visual narration”. The exhibition also displayed cartoons and critical texts created mainly at the end of the 1960s when “Student” had its biggest circulation and influence. A printed monograph is planned that would contain the memories of collaborators and contributors, and if funds allow, the making of a film about the history of “Student”.

Sabile Keçmezi-Basha explains the founding and development of illegal groups (1945–1990s). This article was chosen because it highlights some of the illegal groups’ main activities and their ideological orientation at different time periods.

The author explains how the political opinions and activities of Albanians in Kosovo did not develop freely, do to their political and legal status, their unfavorable economic, educational, and cultural situation, and repression from the Republic of Serbia and the Communist League of Yugoslavia, which did not accept alternative political ideas. As a consequence, political activity that sought an independent Kosovo or that called for its unification with Albania was only undertaken illegally.

Since the end of 2017, the Federal Foundation for the Reappraisal of the SED Dictatorship has acquired non-commercial user rights of approximately 6,000 digitalized negatives from the private collection of Harald Hauswald.

Currently, the foundation has 2,275 digitalized photos its digital archive and aims to create a complete digital archive of the works of the artist by the end of 2019. The current digitalized material includes negatives that show snapshots of everyday life in East Berlin from the 1970s until the beginning of the 1990s. The themes cover issues such as youth culture and the church, alternative lifestyles, snapshots of neighbourhoods in East Berlin and its crumbling architecture among many others.

Digitalization is currently carried out by the Association OSTKREUZ. Its purpose is to ensure the conservation and restoration of the material and its documentation and cataloguing. The costs for the digitalization processes are covered by the Federal Foundation.

The purpose of digitalization is to facilitate wider public access to the photographic work of one of the most significant photographer from the GDR, whose work strongly conflicted with the regime’s objectives. It aims therefore not only to ensure the preservation of such valuable works but also to contribute to youth political education.

The 2017 International Archives Day was hosted by the Archives of the National Commission of the "Solidarity" Trade Union in collaboration with the Foundation for the Promotion of Solidarity, the Museum of BHP Hall of Gdańsk Shipyard, Gdańsk State Archives, and the Gdańsk Branch Office of the Institute of National Remembrance.

The main theme of the Day, celebrated in the BHP Hall of Gdańsk Shipyard, was the visit of pope John Paul II to Poland in 1987. During the day-long event the archivists, collectors, and historians, mainly from Pomorskie region, have discussed different manners, in which historical sources commemorate and describe the pope’s visit. Representatives of various institutions presented documents and memorabilia revealing different milieus’ perspective on the pope’s visit, such as the "Solidarity", the Church, and the SB Security Service.
