In 2004, the City of Zagreb purchased the Tošo Dabac Archive and all of its rights from its previous owner Petar Dabac, and in 2005 it granted the Archive to the Museum of Contemporary Art for management. The processing of the collection began in 2006, when Marina Benažić was hired, and she went on to become its manager soon afterward, in January 2007.
